Powder Mills - Big trout water for the more discerning fly angler

Off Blacksmith Lane in Chilworth, Powder Mills is a 4 acre day ticket water in peaceful natural surroundings, appreciated by the more discerning and experienced fisherman.

Sheltered by woodland, the fishery is flanked by two branches of the River Tillingbourne with stream fishing also on offer. The lake is stocked with rainbow and brown trout of an average weight of 5lb to in excess of 10lb and, with an abundance of natural food, enjoys excellent buzzer fishing with frequently outstanding hatches of olives, sedge, mayfly and damsel flies. The apricot spinner fall in mid summer is particularly exciting.

Grass snakes can often be seen winding their way lazily across the lake, whilst deer ambling through and vault the stream as they go.

Stocked three times a week.
