Get the basics right

The general consensus of opinion is that fly-fishing is complicated and very specialised. Once a few basic principles have been observed, it is easy, fun, and very satisfying. Self taught anglers do not necessarily follow the basic principles and can get into bad habits using more energy than is generally required.

'Automatic Reflex'

Muscle memory and regularly repeated body movements condition the brain and, within a very short space of time, the whole casting routine becomes an automatic reflex. Inappropriate casting routines should be identified and corrected as soon as possible. The difference between the self taught routine and a routine that includes the correct basic principles is very significant.

Why not have your present casting routine analysed and benefit from further possible improvements?
